Submission Guidelines
The Kalam Journal strives to engage the development of Islamic theology and its encounter with contemporary issues in the intellectual climate. We recommend scholars and writers to submit proposals for book reviews, papers or discussions.
Process of Reviewing Articles
All manuscripts are reviewed by the journal’s editorial board. All submissions must be original and unpublished work and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere. Unsolicited book reviews and article proposals are encouraged and will be assessed for publication by the editorial board. The editorial board reserves the right to decline any submission. The journal is not a refereed publication, but it endeavors to have maintain a high quality of intelligent and inter-disciplinary discussion in its pages and we are therefore looking for lucid, fresh and engaging writing.
Author’s Personal Information
Full name of author(s) must be listed, along with university or professional affiliation, address, city, state, country, phone/fax number(s), and email address where you can be reached. Please also provide a short and current biography of 200 words with your submission.
Abstract Submission/ Review proposal
All papers must include an abstract of no more than 150 words. It is strongly advised that the length of the article should not exceed 7,000 words. Book reviews and conference reports must not exceed 1000 words. All pages should be numbered consecutively. All submissions must be sent in both Word and PDF formats.
Formal Features of Articles
All submissions must conform to the Chicago Manual of Style.
Copyright Notice
Copyright of articles is assigned to “Kalam Journal” from the date on which the article is accepted for publication. The Kalam Journal permits single copying of single published articles for private study or research, no matter where the copying is done. Multiple copying of journals or parts of journals without permission, however, is in breach of copyright regulations. Permission is normally given upon request to the Editor, Copyright and Permissions to the journal@kalamrm.com, for illustrations, tables and short extracts from the text of individual articles published in our journals to be copied, provided that the original source of the material is acknowledged in each case and the permission of the authors is also obtained.
